WKK Gimbal 0 Posted April 26, 2002 When having a set of custom textures to apply in O2, where should they be located? I'm concerned about how OFP will later find the textures in the PBO if they're path is not correct from the start. I tried making a folder on the same drive as o2's data folder, then put a texture folder and my config, etc in there - sO I could compile the PBO from this folder. But then 02 complaned that the texture names where too long. If I just dump my textures into the data folder, they will not be part of the PBO. What to do??? kegetys 2 Posted April 26, 2002 I put the addon PBO name into the texture name in Oxygen. For example "KEGhawk/side2.pac", and when I do a "KEGhawk" dir under the dir where I have Buldozer and put the textures there it works in buldozer and after "stuffing" the PBO it works in game too. I do now know about oxygen though if it should be able to view the textures somehow... but Buldozer does the job.
WKK Gimbal 0 Posted April 26, 2002 OK, I made a folder on the root of the drive where Buldozer and all the data is, called Gimbal_Monster. The I copied a test-texture into it, called testside.pac When applying the texture in Oxygen, I got a popup that the texturename was too long. In the texture list it was displayed as "gimbal_monster/testside.pac" and this is shorter than most names used in OFP, so I don't know why it complains. You say you renamed the texture in Oxygen? How did you do that? All I can do is preview the textures from the list, not rename them... Cheers
kegetys 2 Posted April 27, 2002 I think the texture name length limit is in the MLOD format models, in ODOL they can be longer... You can (sort of) rename textures by holding down ctrl and double clicking on a texture name from the texture list. This selects all faces that use that texture. then click on a viewport and press E to pop up the properties dialog for those faces, from there change the texture path. WKK Gimbal 0 Posted April 27, 2002 Thanks alot! I had feared it was not possible to change a texture reference after it was applied, without applying it again. I was seeing myself sitting and remapping the whole damn thing over and over till the texture paths where right Cheers
