Scorpio 0 Posted June 12, 2002 I have a Mig-29 model in .3ds format that i imported into O2. but the thing is that i dont know how to make the custom gears move up an down, assign the custom weapons so that they can be fired, and everything else. I dont want to use the Hawk or anything else, because i want to keep my complete model as it is. If i were to make a custom cockpit, how would i do that aswell? Can anybody help me here? Thanks in advance.
vonoben1944 0 Posted June 12, 2002 I don't see why you couldn't use another model for template? Thats the easy way out I think. Why would you have to change anything on your model if you did that?
Jackal326 1182 Posted June 13, 2002 I think its mostly personal pride, I.E. "Look what I did with out using templates etc" which I fully understand and have often used myself
Scorpio 0 Posted June 13, 2002 Well i do use a template for building models, but not all of them. The gears on the Mig are much larger than the ones on the Hawk, for example. I just wanted to know how to make those larger gears fully working gears in ofp.
colonel_klink 0 Posted June 13, 2002 Use the memory LOD from the Hawk (I'm sure Kegety wouldn't mind, after all with out a demo model to follow it is damned hard to get things to works. I thank Kegety for doing the ground work 8))). These are points you need in the memory LOD osa (pivot) predniho kola - nose gear pivot osa praveho kola - port (I think) gear pivot osa leveho kola - starboard gear pivot Now you will need to name each of the complete gear, that is wheel and strut as follows: predni kolo (wheel) - nose wheel assembly pravy kolo - port gear assembly Levy kolo - starboard gear assembly Now you will have to realise the gear fold FOWARDS 90 degrees. so the wing area or engine nacelle or fuselage must be able to house the undercarriage assembly. I had to cheat with the Skyhawk to get the nosewheel assembly to fold correctly. The latest version doesn't have the nose wheel in th pilots lap in 3rd person view. It took a while to come up with a solution. Flaps and moveable rudder are another story, but that should get you started. I'm writing a tutorial about how to build an aircraft in O2 so keep in touch.
