KTottE 0 Posted July 9, 2002 Ok, I know that I have to use textures with dimensions that are in a power of 2 format (256x256, 512x128 and so on) But what is the maximum size I can use? I think, since OFP:R let's us set textures to 2048x2048 under Display options, we can use textures that big. Does anyone know anything about this? And can any of you that has been using O2 longer than me tell me what texture size seems to be the best compromise between detail and performance? Cheers, KTottE
kegetys 2 Posted July 9, 2002 well I have successfully tried 4096x4096 textures, but one texture of that size eats a whooping 50 megabytes of texture memory, so it might not be a very good idea to use that big ones. Use as small as possible, to save video memory, but as big as needed to get sharp textures.
