Oliv 0 Posted July 23, 2016 After playing for some days and reaching HQ 5 I have got quite frustrated with how units set their attack priority. It seems to me that they (for example fire team) will only attack walls if it's the only way. Or the buildings which are not protected by walls should very far away. For example, I encountered a base which had fuel/supply deposits behind the walls in opposite corners protected by few turrets and the rest of the base in the middle. I though I could easily get deposits by eliminating the turrets around them. I was very surprised when, after destroying the turrets, my solders went to the center. They were far away from other buildings and out of reach of defence! It seems to me it is quite easy to arrange a base in a way to make soldiers walk around the base, while being killed by defences. I know we have engineers who should take care of walls but what happened in the event described above was completely unexpected. EDIT: below is a good example, the army will attack anything but the resource building. Recon team will also to go the center before trying to destroy the walls. Sorry for the bad "screen shot" :)
Thales 45 Posted August 1, 2016 Hello Oliv! Some units really choose their targets by what is closest to them. By that I mean that units are evaluating time needed to attack the structure. If there are walls that would take longer to destroy than getting to a nearest building unprotected by a wall, units will choose easier path and will attack the unprotected one. You also correctly pointed out that players can arrange bases in a way that units are going from one building to another while defensive structures are destroying them. It's exactly the situation where you can use Engineers. Recon is a specific unit because they prioritise resource and special event buildings (Operation Planning, Railgun Tower, Drone Launchpad) and only after those buildings are destroyed or really very far will they attack other structures. But we're listening to feedback and some unit's behaviour may be slightly adjusted in future updates. ;) I hope my answer helps you and you'll enjoy playing the game. Oliv 0 Posted August 1, 2016 Thanks Thales, with some experience I can predict how my units will behave and I always have an engineer unit. Still, the distance my army is willing to go under the enemy fire just to destroy a plant or an office sometimes seems to be too long. :) Below is an example of my HQ5 base. I lost only 3 out of 10 last defenses. The three loses were to players who are at least 1 HQ level above me. Enemy units often try to get through the southern/northern corridor but they never get through them.
Thales 45 Posted August 2, 2016 Hi Oliv! That's a nice use of corridors you have there. That's one of possible clever designs that could be used in our game and we're happy players are getting creative with building the base. We'll working on making adjustments to base more user-friendly. :)
SgtCrunchy 0 Posted August 5, 2016 Is there any way to make units attack the turrets first. I had multiple attacks where a turret was down to a small amount of hit points but the troops attacked a full hit point building and died when one small attack would have been enough to destroy the turret and win. It is pretty frustrating...
Thales 45 Posted August 11, 2016 Hello SgtCrunchy! We're working on some balancing and reworking some of the targeting for the next update, but I don't want to promise something without being 100% sure it's working much better. But generally speaking we'll do some fixes so the behaviour of units in battle is more reasonable. Stay tuned for more updates in upcoming days and weeks. ;)
captainjlb 0 Posted August 13, 2016 as commander of the attacking troops i need airbornes to target specific objectives, without it may be indeed difficult to attack when starting this great game, in fact i am surprised by the level of defense even at entry level, wall >3, guns >5 , maintaining low the score is a well known trick to cash without loosing but from here this could be corrected with stronger attacking platoons , including with air borne platoons. yes the long range artillery should help (i am getting there) but air borne is to give spice to this again great mobile game
firefox117 0 Posted September 6, 2016 Any chance you guys can fix the attack priority of helicopters? They seemed to be really bugged. Their description says all targets, however I've had this issue multiple times. They will destroy once target, fly across several other targets to destroy something else, only to fly back to their starting position to destroy the target they flew over. It's really annoying, especially when they ignore turrets that are close to go hit something else. I've also had them fly around is circles for a few seconds before flying off. Like like they could use a fix.
Thales 45 Posted September 6, 2016 Hello! We adjusted the behaviour of the Hexacopter drone - it should now correctly attack defensive buildings first. We know about the unit card displaying wrong target, we have update prepared to fix it. To firefox117: If you encounter strange Helicopter drone behaviour, please report it to our support with details of when the issue happened, what was the nickname of the opponent and any other details relevant. Those reports are really helpful to uncover issues that might slip through QA. We'll focus more on the Helicopter drone behaviour and if we find some issue with it we'll adjust it. Thanks for reporting. ;)
