Server only loads official maps?

Hi,

 

with the release of the new eden editor i started to play around with it and made a scenario on a custom map called namalsk.

After making it i wanted to play it with my friends on a dedicated server, so i upload the mods to the server and i uploaded the mission to that same server.

 

now here is where it gets weird, the server loads the mission correctly, then when i join the server it says that the mission is on namalsk.

I then get a namalsk loading screen, and after that i get the map which is just a square of water, after which my game crashes.

I started trying different things and found out that the mission plays on the last map loaded.

so for instance, if i loaded stratis, then proceeded to join my server with my mission, i would be loaded onto stratis and could play the mission.

I have no idea how to fix this, the namalsk mod on the server and on the client are exactly the same.

 

anyone have any ideas?

 

EDIT: after some testing with different maps and mission files i found out that my server only seems to like official maps, is my server broken or what?

Try deleting Namalsk from the server and re-downloading it.  Also make sure you have any dependencies for Namalsk (don't think there are any but can't recall) loaded on the server as well.  Sounds like you have a corrupt copy of the map.

redownloaded it twice (from different mirrors) and i still have the same issue.

Other mods, such as units, weapons and vehicles seem to work fine.

Also tested the normal maps to see if the server was broken, but those worked fine.

 

Edit:

just tested other custom maps (chernarus in this case) and it has the same issues, really weird :S.

it showed me this in my rpt log: Warning Message: No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgWorlds.Chernarus'. could that be the cause?

Sorry for the delayed response - at this point I would try deleting and re-installing A3 server (if you are using a provider they will have a function for this) as it sounds like you might have a corrupt install.

I would say you are not loading the addons you think you are.

Check the startup params that you are actually running which are printed at the start of any RPT file you generate

 

When you have a serverside issue, we nearly always need to see the rpt file to help you out, it gives a hell of a lot of information if you know what you are looking for.
