Mister Frag 0 Posted October 31, 2002 Here is a picture of my Browning Hi-Power with me pulling the trigger and the safety off. As you can see, the hammer hasn't dropped due to the magazine disconnect. Before I took the picture, I verified that the gun was unloaded and the chamber empty. If the gun were to discharge at this point due to negligence on my part, it would exit through my desk and the wood-and-sheetrock wall of my office, and then hit a concrete wall marking the edge of my property. The hold is a bit funny because I wanted to show the dropped safety, and I still had to operate the camera. The serial number on the gun has been partially covered up. The markings on the slide read MADE IN BELGIUM BY FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL This is the same factory that produced Hi-Power pistols without a magazine disconnect during the German occupation of WW II. Guest Posted October 31, 2002 Ok, this thread has gone overboard. I think that Mister Frag got his point through that there are guns who can't be fired unless a magazine is inserted but that most guns don't have that feature. Closing
