Game help

hi all, i am a new kid on the block, i have bought the gold edition of the game and find it hard to master the campaign missions.....i can't see the enemy and they have usually shot me dead before i can see them.......has anyone got any tactics or can anyone help me get throught these missions.

please help me master the game and become a great soldier

Doing a forum search found me this thread.

Also have a rummage through Avon's FAQ, and then specifically in the FAQ there's a link to a .doc file which is a tactics/strategy guide, it says multiplayer but it applies to sp as well, find that here

Edit: I should add that as and when you need help on a specific mission do a search in the "OPF MISSIONS" forum using the name of the mission you're stuck with as your search term and remembering to choose from beginning for the search

for specific mission help, look at OPF missions section, and use search function to seek help.

one advice i could give you is to try cadet mode first. it's easier, so it's not as hard as it looks.

OFP's engament ususally is between 50-250 meters or even longer. so enemy might see you before you do and take you down. my suggestion is that you look around, becareful. this ain't your mama's run-and-shoot game.

one training i could suggest is to goto mission editor, select an island, and place yourself there along with some enemies. then try to shoot them down.

Remeber that it's a game that wants to be real. Nothing like Half-Life. Usualy first shot kills. So try to be slow and stealthy when you know the enemy is near :-)

Be tactical- and crank that resolution up! If you are playing at 800x600 with a small monitor you wont be able to see jack

A good thought that I keep yelling at my friends during lan parties- "If you wouldn't want to do it in real life....don't do it in the game." Simple, but it works.

when you are new a good tactic is lying on the ground and scanning for targets.

when u see the enemy soldiers get up and run to a new position let them have it.

use single shot mode with your rifle and spam them to death.

fire in front if they are running along (unlike counterstrike and the like, you must take into account the time it takes for a bullet to get to a target).

dont be discouraged by how difficult it feels at the moment. a little bit of practise and you will see how great this game is. even a single kill in flashpoint is much more satisfying than say a single kill in something like medal of honour.
