cyrilfiggis 14 Posted April 14, 2016 Hi All! I am trying to port an ArmA 1 mission to ArmA 3. So far I have successfully replaced all units, weapons, magazines, and markers using 3rd party mods. However, there is a BI sound that I need as well. Am I allowed to package the original ArmA 1 dialogue (ogg) with the mission, or do I need to redub it myself? Thanks for the help! Richie 330 Posted April 14, 2016 Not sure about the sound files but objects/models are available to use under license, see Here and have a look.
killzone_kid 1331 Posted April 14, 2016 https://www.bistudio.com/community/game-content-usage-rules Q. Am I able to use some music and game content from Take On Helicopters in my mission on A3, which is hosted by me?A. Unfortunately, the content of Take On Helicopter is currently NOT available for use by community under any license. There are plans to allow this in the future (similar to Arma Public Licenses).Q. How about music?A. Most of the music can be freely used subject to our general rules, e.g. all music from Arma games. Sometimes we license music from 3rd parties and subsequently don’t own the rights ourselves and cannot give permission for you to use music or other audio from the game. If this is the case we’ll let you know, safest to check first with us. But we can confirm that the music in Carrier Command: Gaea Mission and some of the music in Take On Helicopters is not available for re-use. I would imagine same goes for dialogues. ceeeb 147 Posted April 14, 2016 The mission sound files are definitely included in the Arma 1 Arma Licensed Data Packs.
cyrilfiggis 14 Posted April 16, 2016 Okay. I will probably hold off on that project for a while anyway, I'll hit that roadblock when I come to it. Thanks for the responses!
chortles 263 Posted April 16, 2016 As a quick note to OP: the answer for Take On Helicopters was not updated to account for the Take On Helicopters Data Pack, released under APL-SA and permitted to be debinarized.
