d0nar 2 Posted March 16, 2016 Hello, For personal use (and if i get permissions for release also (original author was not online for a half year)) and for learning purposes (i first want to understand how to make configs before i ask a friend of mine for modeling), i am trying to port an a2 mod to a3. What i have done so far is: -Correcting Paths of materials in the binarized p3d with p3danalyzer to a3 materials and so on. -Made a basic config based on an ported an2. so when i now add it in an mission, i can get on the seat, fire up the engine but, it does not move... so what might be missing? PuFu 4600 Posted March 16, 2016 1. you won't get help for "personal use" from most people in this community. 2. if you don't have permission from the author and you have not been in contact with him,i assume you don't have the source files either, correct?
d0nar 2 Posted March 16, 2016 yeah i know my chance about getting help... but maybe somebody helps out and if i get permission it would be no more personal use. jep thats right, thats the reason for use p3danalyzer as editing tool.
PuFu 4600 Posted March 16, 2016 why don't you port any of the A2 vanilla assets BI released sources for, it provides the same learning process...
TeTeT 1523 Posted March 16, 2016 For your experimentation and your personal experience, you want into looking simulation= airplane or airplaneX and see if that makes a difference for moving the plane. Also there's the driveOnComponents field in the config now, but I guess that's out of question if you don't have access to the original model. Overall I recommend following PuFu's advice and try to port an arma2 asset and then probably compare or adjust your effort with that of CUP for the same vehicle, if available. Should give you some insight into the process.
chortles 263 Posted March 17, 2016 Alternately, you can use such resources as the jet sample in Arma 3 Samples or this aircraft template for examples of unbinarized learning materials.
d0nar 2 Posted March 17, 2016 simulation= airplane helped :D now uhm its hopping on the ground getting not more than 20km/h and not flying but its moving ^^ maybe its time to try the aircraft template chortles mentioned, that looks good, did not found that great tutorial :D
