Iron Front Mod Buildings in TB

Recommended Posts

Good day!

To get straight to the point, I have been making a map to be used with the IFA3 mod. I have been using the latest version of Map Builder (such a sexy tool) to place the buildings from said mod down on my map.

However, when I import them into TB and export the map, I load it ingame (buildings show up on map ingame) but there are no buildings to be seen while actually playing, only assets from vanilla Arma are there, such as fences, walls, all the vegetation... etc. The thing is, I have the suspicion that I did something wrong when importing the template libraries into TB, because I don't know if you are familiar with the @IF mod, but they have different pbos for models, another for textures, another for configs... etc.

So here I am looking for some guidance from someone who has actually made a map with IF assets or someone who can help me out. I have read on a post something about putting the mod pbo folders into "P:\ca\" instead of just "P:" when using A2 assets, but I'm not very sure of how to do that.

Hope that wasn't too hard to understand.

Thank you for your time!

IF usually uses "lib\" not "ca\"

If you use extractpbo, it should place them in the right spot.

Example:

extractpbo D:\Arma3Mods\@IF\addons P:\

Thank you for your reply... not sure I understand very well.

IF has for example in different pbos:

lib_buildings, lib_buildings_ico, lib_buildings_data, lib_buildings_models and lib_buildings_textures.

When I extract them with Mikero's Extractpbo, it extracts them all into "LIB/lib_buildings/..." and then each folder has its own data.

Do you mean I should get all the data from each pbo and merge it into the same "LIB/lib_buildings" folder? As such: "LIB/ lib_buildings/ ico+data+models+textures"?

Thank you for your time.

you put them in P:\LIB\

for example I'm using CUP but its the same thing.

I extract "cup_terrains_ca_buildings.pbo" with extract pbo, It then makes a folder called "cup_terrains_ca_buildings" as that's what the pbo was called. BUT in that is a "ca" folder (in your case is sounds like its lib). So I would copy the "ca" folder to my P:\ drive.

I now have "P:\ca\buildings", which I add to Terrain Builder template library. If you don't have an object in your library, your get an unhelpful error in TB when you import a file from map builder or x-cam.

Don't forget when you load your map up, your also need the mod loaded as well, as the object isn't in your map just the link to its position.

Solved. Putting everything in the "LIB/Lib_buildings" folder inside P got it to work!

Thanks for your help!  :m:
