wantafanta 13 Posted February 4, 2016 so for my map ive decided to use a combination of hand painted and satelite imagery (for a 40960 x 40960 map). alot of the map is just forested area and the trees on the satelite imagery have issues with shadows, and just dont look very good. im curious if anyone is willing to share how they handled painting the forests, tree lines, etc since im just not sure what i can do with all this forest without it looking as bad as the satelite imagery does. should i keep it more of a solid color and just add some sort of noise? or should i actually make sure trees are visible from the sat texture? spookygnu 563 Posted February 5, 2016 clone stamping in photoshop is a good one I use. I found that if shadows ever got in the way on the ground I would then create another layer and clonestamp the ground it should be over the shadows. clone stamp is your friend in photoshop for editing RL terrain images.
