ginntonic 12 Posted January 9, 2016 I'm new to this game, but overall it seems to be epic, except for what seems to be a major issue. Unless there is a problem on my side (which id love some tips), the gunnery accuracy in the game seems bad. At first I thought it was me simply not knowing how to shoot in Arma, but last night I got myself into situations where I was in a building surrounded by enemy AI - and I had a high powered sniper rifle but couldn't hit an enemy standing in clear sight 50-75' away. It was as if he (AI) wasn't even there, but yet graphically he was. I realize it may be all too easy to suggest it was still my bad shooting, but I promise, this wasn't the issue. I used 4 clips trying to hit him once and not a single shot landed. I re-spawned thinking it was a singular glitch, but in trying it again I had the same result. The only thing I seem to be able to kill people effectively with is something that is semi or full auto since it sprays shots around a bit. Perhaps the issue isn't actually "gunnery" but there is some major "sync" problem with this game that almost ruins it - since there is a huge lack of confidence doing the right thing will result correctly. ...really, apart from this the game rocks. Jackal326 1182 Posted January 9, 2016 My guess is your "high powered sniper-rifle" wasn't zero'ed to the 50-75 feet engagements you were having (more likely ~300-400m zero) and as such your shots were simply flying right over the guy. Either that or you were simply lagging out of your arse.

I was shooting at AI opponents, and I will admit it appeared sometimes they where "sliding" across the ground. In the incident I am referencing though, the AI solider was standing still - and again, wasn't far off. I will try what you are suggesting, and thank you very much for the response. Mirek 166 Posted January 12, 2016 My suggestion: Go to editor place a player Place something to mark the place to shoot from Place few targets at 50-100-150-200-300-500-800-1000m or smtng like that Place an virtual arsenal box Pick a rifle Zero the sights on first targets distance shoot see where the shot landed adjust shoot repeat for all targets with several weapons untill your finers bleed. :-) For more fun install ACE3 enable advanced balistics and wind deflection, ant try in different weather conditions. After some time you will get natural feeling for adjusting your sights so you will not have to measure distances to adjust properly. Everithing will be just natural for you. What Jackal326 meant was the zeroing on the scope was too high. Many of the scopes only range to a minimum of 300m. Use 'Pg Up' and 'Pg Dn' to adjust the range. (Some scopes cannot be adjusted)
