icexdive 10 Posted December 25, 2015 Hello Soldiers, I really don't know what to do. I played a lot of Arma 3 in the last few days, always with 40+ fps. There were no lags or anything. But when i started playing today my fps did not make it above 10-12 fps for no reason. Its really laggy now. It does not depend on the gamemode or map, its everywhere. My Ping is fine and my hardware should not have a problem with this game. CPU: Intel Xeon e3-1231v3 3.40 GHz GPU: MSI R9 390 Gaming 8GB RAM RAM:8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 MB: ASRock H97 Pro4 PSU: CS 550M COOLER It came outta nowhere. I have never had a big problem with this game. Any ideas what it could be? I reinstalled it and i also tried to set the settings to low - still 10 fps -_- Pleas ask me if you need further information.
ArmaMan360 94 Posted December 26, 2015 What all processes do you have running in the BG while playing Arma ? Have you tried softwares like Game Booster 3 etc which shuts down unnecessary processes before executing a game? Maybe a new bg process is interfering. Or windows / software updates. I rarely play online hence I am assuming it should be with your various background update tasks maybe? Alt+Ctrl+Del, then Task Manager, then see what tasks are utilizing how much % of your memory and network. That should be a good way to begin your research. And once you have launched arma from a launcher, you will see arma3.exe in the Processes tab of the task manager. Right click on this arma3.exe, then Set Priority as "High". Then revert with your observations please. :)
Insane Ruffles 0 Posted December 28, 2015 I upgraded my GFX card recently and had no improvement in FPS. Sometime I have drops in FPS as well. It seems to be mostly CPU bound.

Jackal326 1182 Posted December 28, 2015 I upgraded my GFX card recently and had no improvement in FPS. Sometime I have drops in FPS as well. It seems to be mostly CPU bound. ArmA's performance is based more upon the CPU than the GPU. Don't get me wrong, you still need a reasonably good GFX card if you want long view distances and higher detail to the terrain - my GTX 670 has done the job for quite some time, but GPU upgrades aren't going to help improve performance in ArmA much sadly. spanishsurfer 58 Posted December 29, 2015 So prior to the GPU upgrade your FPS were fine....You replaced the GPU and now your FPS are shit....sounds like a GPU driver issue to me!
