3DEN breaking older missions

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had any issues with Eden breaking older missions since the patch? I'm having an issue with my group where a lot of our missions are getting "3DEN" in our addons and addonsauto section of our mission.sqm and are thus unable to open any of them. The most abhorrent issue is when we delete "3DEN" from the addeons/addonsauto section of the mission.sqm, and go back and save our missions in the editor, "3DEN" pops back up so we are unable to fix our missions.

Here is a screenshot of what I mean. T9PmGKV.jpg

has anyone else had this issue and had any luck fixing it? On the plus side it doesn't seem to insert itself into missions made after the patch.

Hello.

It also seems that any mission created in the lastest patch also has the 3DEN Depandancy.

Anyway here is how to fix it.

• Delete the line in your mission.sqm that contains the "3DEN" requirement (both lists)

• Make sure, if the 3DEN was at the end of the list, you deleted the last comma. There should be nothing between the last element of the list and the closing braket (idk how to write it) "}".

Hopes that helps.

While Eden Editor (3DEN is its system name) is currently available only in the dev branch of the game, dummy 3DEN addon is present even in the default branch to prevent any issues. It's been like that already since the previous patch.

Where are you unable to open them? In the 2D editor? From Scenarios menu?

For my case, I have the error on the dedicated server installation (Installed with steamcmd). Windows server btw.

The files are updated and validated but 3DEN still seems to be missing. It tries to read the mission again and again.

And yeah for older missions I can't open them in the 2D Editor.

If you need anymore information please let me know.

We were also discussing this issue here:

https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/186301-154-breaking-missions-with-rpt-error-missing-addon-3den-how-to-fix/

For some unknown reason, our server is unable to load missions requiring the 3den addon (or at least some of them).

Removing the 3den lines and repacking the mission with pbo manager fix the issue (ie the server can load the mission).

I noticed that the 3den lines are added when a Zeus module is place in the editor.

Not only because I don't have any Zeus module.

No matter what I save using the Editor, the 3DEN entry will appear. What I have been doing is - editing my mission in the editor as usual and saving it. Then I go into the mission.sqm and delete the 2 3DEN entries and save. Then using PBO Manager, I go into my missions folder and right click and "pack into Example.Altis.pbo"

Hope that helps for now.

We were unable to open the missions in the MP scenario selection screen for our private server, still can open it in editor and stuff.

We had the same issue with dedicated server not accepting "3DEN" after 1.54 patch. Gets annoying having to edit the "3DEN" out everytime.

Temp fix until 3DEN Editor comes out.

http://asor.com.au/files/@3DEN.zip

Add to your server as mod.

-mod=@3DEN

Does not need to be on a client unless your hosting a multiplayer game.

It does nothing but allow the server to see 3DEN is running and continue on, since it is not doing anything atm (other than in dev branch) it doesnt matter. Be sure to stop using it next patch or whenever 3DEN Editor comes out.

Could you please go to Arma 3 addons folder, find data_f_exp_b.pbo file and post here its date of last modification? Config in that addon already contains class 3DEN in CfgPatches, so no external addons should be required.

Actually, it seems the date is based on when the Steam downloaded the file. Instead, could you please open the addon file in a text editor, and on the first line, you'll see something like this:

sreV                prefix a3\data_f_exp_b product Arma 3 version 86189  config.bin

Could you please tell me which version is your file (e.g., 86189 in the example)?
