3D Studio Max export issue

Hello all, I am using 3d Studio Max 2015 and it does not seem to want to export the p3d file. I have never used the tool before and get this in the log file.

sharp SG
:lod "1.000"

:end

Any help would be appreciated. Also does anyone know why bulldozer crashes saying arma 3 has stopped working when I load in O2 to preview a model? Works fine when I am working on terrain.

what are you exporting the p3d with? Why don't you simply export it via OBJ/FBX/3DS?

I was trying out the p3d exporter that came with the A3 examples. I have never made a game model before. I am an engineer who is used to doing CAD work.

fair enough. You can use the p3d script exporter only if you require the mesh to keep the skin weights. Otherwise, use OBJ/FBX or 3DS export file formats. Unless you give more information about it i cannot tell why buldozer is crashing. It could also be due to the fact that the mode is above the poly limit imposed per p3d by bulldozer.

32,000 vertex normals. How many polygons that translates to depends on the allocation of smooth/sharp edges (e.g. smoothing group boundaries and/or unwelded edges)

Can be anywhere from 18,000 tris up to nearly 32,000 depending on the mesh really
