Surface mask changes not visible?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I'm working on my first map right now. Everything works well, I just have one problem. I did the first edits on the surface mask. I reimported it and used the "generate layers" option in the mapframe properties. The changes aren't visible in Buldozer. Am I doing something wrong? I can't rebuild the terrain because I did changes on it. It would reset my terrain edits if I hit this button, right?

Delete the entire layers folder found inside your data folder each time you update the sat or mask, then regenerate layers.

I already tried this. doesn't work. Any ideas? I can see my new surface mask in Terrain Builder. It just don't want to export it to the map. :/

It's always worked for me, it's the only way to do it, have you tried packing your map to check ?

I have the same problem ingame. I have no idea what to do.

EDIT: I've tried to reinstall the Arma III tools, still the same problem.

EDIT 2: Oh, I see the texture is changed. Its just much darker. Maybe because of the satimg? On my satimg there is a forest and I wanna make a sand ground. I can see the sand texture but its much darker / greener than the original paa.

Textures tend to acquire the color of the imagery on top of them. I think if you modify the alpha channel and make it either black or white it completely takes on the color or doesn't. Forget which way is which.
