HitmanTwoActual 188 Posted August 31, 2015 So I have been working on my own custom textures for the OPTRE mod's ODST armor the past few days. Instead of retexturing I took the normal map and completely remade the textures, and then added some custom flair to make it my own. I have all the needed maps, normal, specular, gloss, and diffuse. I am clueless when it comes to getting them in game, and on the OPTRE team's models. Also I have learned that the gloss and specular maps are handled differently in ArmA 3. x3kj 1247 Posted August 31, 2015 they are not handled differently, arma just lacks any auto color balance... means you have to brighten/tone down your specular and gloss eventually, in addition to balancing the additional values for spec and specpower in the rvmat. Best advice would be to check a vanilla smdi (spec and gloss is inside) texture for the grey value of the material you want to emulate, and use that on your spec&gloss as basetexture. Also and also.
