guziczek101 11 Posted August 5, 2015 So i ve found a little addon to blender which can interest some people. This addon synchronize Blender with GIMP/Photoshop and is amazing cause it make things a lot faster. Blender - External Paint Autorefresh
Macser 776 Posted August 6, 2015 So have you spent much time using it? Is it easy enough to set up? I do have the addon on one of my drives. But I just never got around to installing it. I've gotten used to painting directly onto the model. Although there are certain situations where an image editor comes in handy.
sanctuary 19 Posted August 6, 2015 An alternative that does not require addons to make use of your prefered image editor to help with the lack of Blender painting tools is the Blender "Quick Edit" functionality of the Texture Paint mode. Make sure you have added the path to the executable of your prefered image editor in File -> User Preferences, in the File panel before using Quick Edit. And of course have correctly setup your model, UV and assigned a texture to it. A video with an old version of Blender, but Quick Edit still works the same : (looks like that new crap... board engine auto-embed youtube links instead of keeping them links)
guziczek101 11 Posted August 6, 2015 yes i ve spent some time with that addon and it's easy to use (the only thing is that u have to make shortcut in photoshop to export updated texture) it is very handy to use, cause you dont have to make new texture nad upload it into blender to check it, this addon will do it for you. They made a video how it's working in GIMP and blender (im using Photoshop), Sorry for my english :)
