Can't install resistance. help!

Ok I bought Resistance today to cheer me up cos I was soooooo hungover. I walked home in the rain but with a smile on my face. I threw in the CD and got ready to rock... It wont work.

When the installtion finished it said it couldnt create file OperationFlashpoint\OperationFlashpoint\bin\ijl.dll  and then it said the program "might" not work properly. So I go and try it and when I hit the .exe button the preferences come up. So I click on Start and up comes the little OPF:R banner which then disappears but the preferences pop up again. And I click Start again and so on and on. Nothing runs.

What do I do?

Try uninstalling everything-resis & the original OFP, and resinstalling them

Also in the meantime try reading through the FAQ to see if anything in there helps.

Edit: Also try using the search engine in here and looking at the results, this search is for topic titles of Resistance from the start, look for any title which seems relevant, such as Resistance instilation problem.

Cleaned the CD and tried a new drive.....

I love this game.

I've hit a major low today in life as I tried to re-install Resistance. Ladidida! I install Operation Flashpoint, and then I install Operation Flashpoint: Resistance. ERRR! Cannot copy file XXXXX.dll. Well, I log onto the forums to see this thread and I copy&paste everything onto the HD and install like that. Well, it installs perfectly, but as fate would have itself, ERRR! Bad CD-Key it says, even though I used the correct one! It installs from the CD just fine but it won't let me play even though I've a manual&CD-Key that worked just fine the month before I erased my HDD!!!!

Had it been completely uninstalled before you tried to install it? Perhaps there's some residue in the registry that is causing this problem?

No, I've deleted EVERYTHING related to Ofp in the Reg and it still will not work.

Hmm just a thought, are you using the Opf CD-Key to install Resistance of the Resistance CD-Key?

I'm using the proper CD-Key, I'll try it again, but I'm afraid I might commit suicide.

Is there any chance that you are getting 0/O and 1/l mixed up when reading the key?

No, because if you do that it won't accept the Cd-Key in the first place!
