_FR_starfox64 1 Posted July 9, 2015 Hello, What is the best way to place objects accurately (in some sort of 3D editor obviously)? As of right now I'm placing my objects using Zeus and MCC to export to a .sqm. The issue is that Zeus is quite inaccurate when it comes to spawning and placing objects. I was wondering, which tool does the official mission makers use, the hidden 3D editor, or do they have some sort of custom script?
jshock 513 Posted July 9, 2015 I don't know about the official BI missions, but I've always used the standard in-game editor, with some patience and persistence, and was able to accurately enough place objects.
R3vo 2654 Posted July 9, 2015 X-Cam is best tool to place objects, after you are done, export it to an sqf file and execute that before the mission starts. Here are some examples.
_FR_starfox64 1 Posted July 10, 2015 Yeah, I'm gonna be using X-Cam from now on, I actually did some looking around in the campain files and it seems that they are (or have been) using the built-in/hidden 3D Editor (RscDisplayMissionEditor).
