Uziyahu 0 Posted October 10, 2002 Page 5 Has Pics of 500-gallon Fuel Blivets (.pdf) They are black rubber-looking bladders with sling connections on the ends. I don't remember where the fuel comes out of, but that doesn't really matter in OFP, anyway. I may have a picture or two of my own. Under stress they would probably make a big fire. hehe A Model for Sale
blackdog~ 0 Posted October 10, 2002 What is the reason of making one when cars never run out of gas in OFP? Bah, it looks easy enough to model (not sure) so I guess if someone wanted to make things that go boom, yeah I guess they could make one of those... If they do you should be able to turn it 'on' and then gasoline starts spewing out and catches on fire or somethin..
r71 0 Posted October 10, 2002 all you do is set down drums in the editor. you can refuel from them.

Uziyahu 0 Posted October 10, 2002 I don't want "drums". I want fuel blivets. Why? Because fuel blivets are what was used during the Cold War for FARPs in the U.S. Army. If I wanted something that didn't fit, I'd opt for a refueling UFO.

You will run out of fuel!
walker 0 Posted October 10, 2002 Hi all </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (blackdog~ @ Oct. 10 2002 @ 04:21)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">What is the reason of making one when cars never run out of gas in OFP?<span id='postcolor'> You have never played BS06 Planned Defence this happens quite often all vehicles need at least one refuel in the mission unless you dismounted all the vehicles. I am constructing a light Air Cavalry battalion mission that will last at least 48 hours. Blivets would be perfect for it but for the fact I am trying to keep Addons to a minimum so I will probably use barells. I would certainly do an accurate version using blivets for the FARPs As more strategic missions get released in OFP these issues take on a higher importance. I for one see more large battles as being a major influence on the future of OFP. CS, GR, BF1942 and all the other arcade games will never be able to create battalion sized conflicts. Their game engines are just not up to it and their Maps are too small. Battalion level conflicts and strategic considerations such as supply lines, depth of defence, Order of Battle, TOE are all valid concepts within OFP in Single Player. It think if new dicoveries we are making at the CoC and the continued support BIS show the game in making new patches to the game or expectations for OFP2 pan out we will be able to create such systems for Multi player as well. For any one who says Blivets are not a relavent issue in OFP they are not playing any of the advanced missions in OFP or seeing some of the betas of larger missions created by some of the Big OFP MODs. VXR 9 Posted October 10, 2002 its a good idea to make the missionmaker can decide himself what the fuelamount in the car and or tank is maybe its made for points where there is no town in the area
Uziyahu 0 Posted October 11, 2002 Well, one thing that needs to happen is to have a script where holes get shot in the fuel cells of a vehicle as it takes projectile damage (provided it doesn't take so much that it blows up or starts flaming)... then fuel consumption could take place at a much quicker pace. And for wheeled vehicles, it seems like if you have 75% damage, you're not going anywhere, anyway, because you can't drive on flat tires. I'd like to make a script for helos where you start to lose ammo and fuel as you take damage and where it can start flaming at one point, causing progressive damage, like in IL-2 Sturmovik. I'd also like to see the engine go out totally (by fuel=zero), shot out by enemy fire, so that you can start to fall out of the air. At another point, you could have rotor damage, causing a loss in altitude that is difficult to fight by up'ing your collective.
r71 0 Posted October 11, 2002 I have some of my missions where if your plane or chopper takes to much damage you will run out of fuel. 75% damage and you are out of gas.
