I mean what name will the playable character get. Is it simply "player" or "ap" or anything else ? I need to know cause as the script runs client side only it always has to work on the actual player controlled unit.<span id='postcolor'> It's always "Player". If you have named one of the playable character as "aP" using the name with commands will affect only the character, regardless which character the client player is playing on his own computer. Using "Player" with the commands will affect each client's playable character only. Remember, every script is ran on every computer, and every computer knows which character the human player is in and knows to point every "Player"-command to the right character. Balschoiw 0 Posted October 18, 2002 Ok ! I cant get it work I dont know what I did wrong but I cant get this **** thing to work. Can anyone pls help ? If anyone can invest some time I would be happy if he modifies one of my existing CTF´s to Non-Radio. I mean implementing the script idea Red and Suma offered. I seem to be to stupid for it. Pls download the CTF here, modify it for non radio targetting use and mail it back to me. I am really a bit desperate, so it would be a BIG help if someone can have a look on this. hugo2020 0 Posted October 18, 2002 Simple delete the lines between the players in editor, or make for example officiers only...... I cant see the advantage of that boundet sqaud model with lines between the different soldiers in ladder games, I think it is not needed.
Balschoiw 0 Posted October 18, 2002 ...yes I know about all that. But the problem is some ladders NEED to have groups as a map requirenment and to have only officers is a bit strange isnt it ? I know the solution from RED and Suma has to work, but I simply can´t get it to work, so I asked someone of the MP Editing gods to help me out
hugo2020 0 Posted October 18, 2002 One advantage of the "not bounded squad" is also that the automatic "(Player): D34 M113 Tank) Messages doesn t appear. And about the map requirements, I see there no problem to change them to avoid cheating.
Balschoiw 0 Posted October 18, 2002 @Hugo: I really dont care if you see it or not ! My question is quite precise and if you can´t help me pls stay out of this. This is not about any mumbo - jumbo. My question is clear, isnt it ? So if you can help, great. If not than pls dont spam this thread.

RED 0 Posted October 21, 2002 From the test I have run I have gathered this information: If you run a loop making a player target objnull or that player himself, then get the group leader to order a player to target an enemy solider (I used an AI solider for this) The target box does not come up over the target ordered to be targeted. But if you order the player to target a house (or any building) the target box does come up on that (no idea why this happened) To run these tests I used: 2 pcs over LAN connection (running 1.85 OFPR) 1 of the computers was hosting the game, I only have 2 versions of OFP and don't want my games to fade so can't install it on any of my other pcs to do tests on. If you download the link I posted on the last page Balschoiw adapt the scripts to run with your CTF map then do some tests on that. Hope that helped you in some way, RED
RED 0 Posted October 24, 2002 Bump, any progress on this Balschoiw? RED
Balschoiw 0 Posted October 24, 2002 no RED. I have played around with it, but when testing it local I still get yellow square. As mentioned above maybe my skills lack in this. I really would be veeeerrrrryy thankful if you could use the linked map above and modify it. Ah yes and I did host the game in MP and made the officer AI. And that ai off did assign targets to me. I still dont get the relation between local side running script and name defining within script. I guess it should be possible to do the Anti Radio thing with one variable only, cause the player is always named "player" local on comp, isnt it ? Anyway pls help me out of this, I am getting really frustrated.
RED 0 Posted October 25, 2002 The link doesn't work for me, if you want you could email it to me '[email protected]' RED
Balschoiw 0 Posted November 1, 2002 OK Red did modify a map for me. It works great ! All radio functions stay active except the targetting. The targetting has been removed. Download the map at my homepage and rip it to get the scripts and the trigger settings. The modified map is called CiA CTF 1.3 Pro Ed. you find it in the map download section of the page. EFL league is currently modifying their maps to non-radio ones. I hope TCZ follows. It is a great way to get rid of that radio cheaters within ladder matches, so USE it.
