Texture or another issue?

Recommended Posts

Hy I want to learn making a terrain. I got a few results. Can anyone help me with this weird issue? It looks a little bit like lava floating in front of me:

It's not a bug, it's a feature :)

If you set Terrain detail to Standard or lower in the Arma graphics options it'll go away. It's an effect called parallax and meant to give a '3D' effect to the ground textures. If you run into a forest on Altis or Stratis where there's rocks on the ground-texture, play with the Terrain detail setting to see what I mean.

you should try to keep the texture layer in your samplers tab as close as possible to 40x40 so your ground textures won't be zoomed like in your video. I will also make this effect less noticable.

You may have imported your satelite image as surface mask.

The surface mask is a 4 to 6 color representation of your satelit image that tells the game where to display the diffrent closeup surface textures.
