Ofp sound problem

Recommended Posts

Sometime, when I play OFP, the sound will just cut out. It happens the most when I am in a big battle, or am in a tank running over things. I replaced my sound card and still have this problem. It does not happen most of the time, but enough to annoy me. What can I do to fix this?

Move your foot away from the speaker cable as you're about to get killed wink.gif

Seriously though, what sound card? EAX on or off? HW sound on or off? Latest drivers? What MOBO? What chipset is it? Latest Bios?

Without those things it's hard to help smile.gif

It is a  sound blaster 32 bit card. PCI, and ut says the model is SC1938 (ESS solo-1), whatever that means. Sadly enough I do not know wjhat you mean by EAX and HW. I am thinking it is my copy of the game, why would it do the same thing with two different sound cards??

Try Windows Update in Internet Explorer to see if it wants to download new drivers.

If that doesn't work, visit ESS Technologies and download the appropriate driver for your board manually and install them according to the instructions.

I have experienced a lot of sound problems with Creative SB cards. Like garbled, skipping sounds, especially in vehicles. What I found that works to get rid of them is to go into Directx and turn down or off sound hardware accelleration. I turned mine off and no more sound issues ! wink.gif

Are u using NVIDIA graphic card. If so, try to download new drivers from nvidia website. That could solve the sound problem.

I got occasional sound stops and reproducable blue screen crashes relating to sounds. I have already tried the Forums, Codemasters and BIS but haven't got any usefull advice beyound the obvious: latest drivers, scan disk, defrag, fresh install. In fact I don't play OFP anymore because of this.
