Recommended Posts

Hey guys.

i am going to be setting up server soon on Arma 3, but my problem is, i don't know any code.

i am whiling to give you half the ownership.

The person must be reliable. as this is a big deal for me.

the person must know code.

must be respectful.

and no admin abuse.

please send me a MSG if you are keen for this. not going to be paying for anything TS or the server until someone wants to come out and help :)

Thanks Ted

Sorry to burst your bubble but you spelled altis life wrong, anyhow, since im a complete noob myself i cant say much but i suggest looking at scripting guides if youd like to start learning...dont expect it to go that fast but you can atleast give it a try, i suggest arma 2/3 fockers guide, nice help for newbies like me but when youre done reading you gotta look everywhere to find some more help, try not to constantly ask for help like i do ;p

That way i guess youre not dependant anymore on other people...or i guess not that much anymore.

In addition to what rata487 said, the fastest way I used to learn programming languages was to set myself a goal (usually a problem to solve) and then feel my way from the very basics of the language until I actually found functions/commands/patters which solved my problem.

I started with Altis Life as well and I've made it from having no clue about SQF to being able to properly answer scripting questions in the forum within just 4 months, having said that I was learning very ambitiously, taking almost every free minute for scripting.

Similar with a Java project I had some years ago, where I had to learn Java AND had to develop a useful program using GUI frontend and database backend within a semester at my university. I did all that within 5 months and the result was very good.

TL;DR:

If you're ambitious and have a clear goal, you will learn it very fast yourself. Use the ingame editor to create a dummy mission, do a lot of trial and error and feel your way towards your goal step by step starting at the very basics of SQF, like Control Structures.

I hope that kinda helps,

Johnny

Remember to charge for shop items and pay2win perks - for THAT is the Altis Life way!

If you haven't been reading the Server Monetisation thread that joke will go WAAAAY over your head.

This post does not add any value to our sub-forum.
