still no luck!

I have been trying to make a terrain for 1 month now... and still no luck! im getting really annoyed because at every corner there is an issues such as when i try to generate layers in TB i get Default sattelite file doesnt exist and when i use visitor i go into bulldozer click a key and boom textures disapear. hopefully someone helps me because i am getting really annoyed now :( links too my samplers

well try changing the values in sat/surface mask tiles. you have to play around with them till you get it to generate. try changing the values to 2048x2048 and see what happens

also please do not create new threads if no one answers the old thread..just be patient and some one will come along that knows the answer

My advice would me - maybe start with a smaller test terrain - perhaps 4 x 4km, using a 1024 x 1024 grid and a 4m cell. Maybe use a quickly generated heightmap and texture from L3DT until you get your parameters right (especially the mask tile size). The first goal should be to get your textures working - you'll feel a lot better with a win under your belt.

Once you have that, you can start experimenting with different grids and cell and mask size combos. This is trial and error in my experience, but grids in powers of 2 (512, 1024, 2048, 4096) seem to work, as do even numbered cell sizes - though that could be pure cargo cult* on my part, because I don't really understand why some combos work and others don't.

(*: imitating something that worked before in the hope it'll work again without understanding why it worked)
