1FCZ1LoneWolf 10 Posted January 25, 2015 so, i'm not to happy about the helicopter DLC, why, well, 1. ... arma 2 now cost's less than 2 helicopters, and has far more vehicles... 2. i play Epoch with friends with the DLC, and when they go out on scavenging runs on it i can't go with them as i dont have the DLC to board the chopper. i would like it if i could mount the helicopter sa a crew member without owning the DLC, as its an absolute nightmare when your whole squad are in a helicopter that you cant get in cause you don't want to spend £10 on 2 helicopters, come on guys..., you released arma 2 with alot of vehicles per nation for the full game price and that was it, and we where all happy with it, but at the moment we have about 1/4 of the vehicles arma 2 had in arma 3 and the rest of the are all DLC... so from an alpha that costed £30 and adding £10... its £40 for less that what arma 2 offered at the time for a lower price, seems alittle annoying to me and needs some re thinking as the lack of being able to crew a squad chopper seems to feel like a forced payment to me. lexx 1363 Posted January 25, 2015 But you can go with them? You just can't be the pilot. Getting in as passenger should work without problems.
Nicholas 5 Posted January 25, 2015 Not a forced payment at all. You're allowed to ride in the choppers, you simply cannot pilot them, as far as I know. Go play ArmA 2 then if you feel it might better suite you.
jshock 513 Posted January 25, 2015 Keep in mind Arma 2 is also almost 6 years old, so in the gaming industry it's really not "worth" much anymore. As far as the years of content development, sure yea, it's worth a bit more, but it still gets considered as "old", especially with the next iteration (being Arma 3) now in full swing it gets depreciated a lot. It's your basic "in with the new, out with the old" ideology, and new almost always costs more than the old.
Richie 330 Posted January 25, 2015 I paid £19.99 for A3 (1st day of release) and £11.99 for the DLC bundle (Karts, helis & marksmen) = £31.98 So far i've clocked up 917 hours game player :) it's total value for money on a game i'll still be playing next year and beyond, just buy the pack and enjoy the extras.
