pwner 35 Posted January 19, 2015 I know you guys have a general animosity towards Altis Life and anything to do with RPG-style gameplay in ARMA 3 in general with all the drama going on around ARMA 3 Life, but the hosts of an Altis Life server, Asylum Life, are making a standalone game out of it: DeHajCsIhV4 Personally, I think they're not going to be able to do it, and as their kickstarter trailer shows, they're asking for a lot of money with very little to show for it. My introduction to ARMA was on vanilla A2 with their dizzying array of frankenstein Chernarus Life Revolution servers, so I'm curious to see what you guys think about a standalone version of ARMA RPGs. Do you think there's a market for this kind of thing, or will it stay as mods for ARMA?
chrisb 196 Posted January 19, 2015 I just don't get all this 'life' stuff. But for those that do, then a project like this may be a good investment. I can maybe understand them using stock materials for the promo, but it would have been nice to have a little more of the game in there, to show their potential customers/investors the actual product. roberthammer 582 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) Well i can see this "life" rpg on market ,but doing such game isn't that easy as doing a mod because when you UE4 engine you got the base thats it , everything else YOU have to do - just imagine how much work you must do just for animations , not to mention models , scripts etc. if this "Identity" thing will be successful (which i doubt) it will take many years to make something playable - doing a open world game like GTA isn't easy as doing corridor fps or something like that also Rockstar can easy beat such life game if they get idea to make some "mod" for their GTA V in style of SA-MP Edited January 19, 2015 by RobertHammer
