GDent 10 Posted December 5, 2014 This seems to happen when Steam is having some trouble. For some reason, it affects my dedicated server. I don't think Steam should be affecting the ability to connect to my server. Is there any way to get around this? I'm currently connected to my dedicated server and I see nothing on it. I cannot select a mission. I can type in the chat, but I cannot log in or type any commands. 20 minutes ago, it was working as normal. I have not changed any settings. I'm sure it will fix itself soon, but I want to get around this problem because I don't want my server to be dependent on steam. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
terox 316 Posted December 5, 2014 The server is only dependant on steam for grabbing patches, other than that all it does is report to a query to advertise it on the steam server browser. Your client on the other hand is dependant on steam. There are many reasons why your server could be stuck on loading, addons, bikeys, server config, missions etc Check this thread out for guidelines to debugging it and take a look at the server rpt file http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?182955-TUTORIAL-DEBUGGING-Server-issues-(e-g-not-loading-correctly) You say you havent done anything, you must have, either loaded a new mission into the Mpmissions folder or deleted one that is defined in the mission cycle class etc, updated to the 1.36 release that was made available yesterday ? GDent 10 Posted December 5, 2014 I updated to the latest release and it worked fine. The problem only lasts about 20 minutes max. Without changing anything, it starts and then it goes away by itself. It has nothing to do with what I changed on the server. This was happening before and after I updated the server. It doesn't happen every day, or even every week.
