Tool to get mission name from PBO?

Recommended Posts

I'm running occasional coop sessions on a local server and have a large number of missions. In order not to play the same over and over again, I've got a spreadsheet with all the mission file names and the date when we played the mission. However, the mission names in the menu aren't identical to the file names, obviously; sometimes that's not much of a problem, if the two are reasonably close, but sometimes they're pretty different, to the extent where I have no idea which one of the available missions corresponds to a certain file name.

Is there a simple way or a tool that shows the mission name in-game for a PBO file?

Hi none that I know of, but if you can open the mission in the editor the mission saved in the editor will be the mission named it will be the usermission name, so the

title of the mission's name in the usermission folder is what the mission was saved as.

Now if you go into the advanced part of the mission where you change the weather and time ect,. the name at the top there will also change the mission name, that name

will take priority over the folder name and is what will be seen listed in the server list or game list when your choosing the mission.

Another method is to open the mission.sqm of the mission (use notepad to open it or armaedit) and look at the description of the mission, usually found

towards the bottom of the mission.sqm if im not mistaken.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info, Günter! I wish there was an easier way, but in most cases the mission name and file name are close enough so it's not much of a problem.

Welcome. Best bet to not even use the advanced part where you change the time, and name the mission there, putting a description there is fin but

a title as said overrides what the mission was saved as be it a usermission or exported.
