Nasty Civilians with guns!

I want civilians to be offensive towards troops, like in the new Russian Campaign. I have played around with resistance friendly settings and have got the civilians to open fire on a squad of Ruskys, but the ruskys wont return fire! How is it done please?

I need to know the same thing. I need my men to fire at swarms of armed civilians but I don't know how to do it with the negative scoring system.

My idea was to somehow make my armed civilians an eastern unit. That way your men would see them as enemies and also score positive points for killing them.

I just need someone to tell me how to make them eastern units.

Go to ww.ofpeditingcenter.com and download what I think is called........Resiistance troops or something.

They are civilian skins armed with AKs and are under the resistance side

It's a lot easier than you think. I do this all the time. It's fun.

What you do is make the civilian a part of an enemy group. e.g.

Make one enemy officer (west), and then add a bunch of civilians, and add them to the west group.

Give them weapons with this line in the init field:

this addmagazine "ak47"; this addmagazine "ak47"; this addweapon "ak47"

As long as they are initially led by an enemy, they will inherit all the AI attributes of one. Good luck. Hope this helps.

will they stay west if the officer/group leader is killed?

that would be cool to just put in his init field this setdammage 1 and have all the rest remain west

Yes, if the officer (leader) is killed, all remaining civilians are still 'enemy' and will even try to pick up weapons/ammo from fallen members in the group.

Should work. I use it all the time. Actually, it's pretty funny to have a bunch of crazy civilians running at you with AK's. Pretty scary. They'll kill you just the same. :-)

Hehe ... once I had trouble getting an A-10 to stop shooting at the enemy, even though it got orders to hold fire and leave. In the end I made the A-10 join group with a civilian at the other end of the map! biggrin.gif
