HKF0x 10 Posted August 23, 2014 Tried restart steam multiple times, arma is always set to auto update and even a game cache verification did nothing. All servers are on 1.26 so i cant play online since i'm on 1.24.125979. Is there any way to do a manual update when steam fail ?
das attorney 858 Posted August 23, 2014 I would try the following: 1 - verify local files then restart Steam and see if it updates. 2 - backup the Arma folder somewhere else and then uninstall game and redownload.
LostLeviathan 10 Posted August 24, 2014 I have the same problem with a similar question: Instead of re installing the whole game, can a manual update be done? It seems ridiculous that you would need to uninstall it because an update failure cripples the game.
pettka 694 Posted August 24, 2014 We had some similar issues in our office at some stations, it appear randomly and re-installing the game seems to be the only solution. I am sorry to say that, but this is beyond our control :icon_evil:
HKF0x 10 Posted August 24, 2014 I started a game cache verification again today and 144 files failed to validate then it redownloaded 6.9 Go, still big but better than 10Go. Now i'm on 1.26.126789 with all servers green, the server list load much faster as well.
danius 13 Posted August 29, 2014 I had the same problem and was stuck on 1.24. I verified local files and found 198 files that were corrupted and needed to be redownloaded, except Steam wouldn't download the update. Uninstalling and reinstalling Arma did the trick. It's really not such a big deal. All your mods and savegames will be retained (although you might want to back up your Arma folder that's in your My Documents folder by default out of an abundance of caution.)
