Dynamic range for resistance?

Recommended Posts

Resistance is great, but apart from the new M16/AK/PK sound effects those original OFP sounds really are pretty lame, and the pistols sound like popguns. I've got so used to Satchel's Dynamic Range pack that the game feels wrong without it! So this is a plea to Satchel or anyone else out there with the ability to make Dynamic Range compatible with Resistance. Please do it!

Here's the README:

-Amon Sound Replacement for Operation Flashpoint Resistance Ver. 2.0-

Content:

This zip file includes an unofficial Sound addon for OFP resistance and five separate pbo files. Bohemia Interactive and Codemasters don´t have anything to do

with this addon, so please don´t bother them if you run in to some problems.

Changes from 1.0:

-New PK sound

-Added new M2 mg sound

-Added modified M60 mg sound

-New bmp2 and m2a2 cannon sound

-New Koclize sound

-New Steyr sound

-New G36a sound

-Added new M21 sniper rifle sound

-Added new Dragunov sniper rifle sound

-New man wounded/dead sounds

Notes:

Tank engine sounds and some of the explosion sounds are used in Dynamic Range sound addon by Satchel, so credits for those goes for man behind that addon.

This addon don´t change sounds for new weapons that came with resistance.

Important:

Remember to make backup copies from your original Sound.pbo, m2a2.pbo, bmp2.pbo, kozl.pbo, G36a.pbo and Steyr.pbo files.

Install:

Unzip the Sound.pbo file to your OperationFlashpoint/Res/DTA folder. m2a2.pbo, bmp2.pbo, kozl.pbo, G36a.pbo and Steyr.pbo goes to your OperationFlashpoint/Res/AddOns folder.

Known issues:

Some sound cards may cause distorted sounds, if so try to turn off Audio HW acceleration.

Thanks:

Taku, PeterNorth and Broileri for testing.

AvonL, I guess CPL BOB was saying that the link on the Kyllikki site does not work.

Bob, if you go back on the site to its "download" directory (http://kyllikki.tiimipeli.net/downloads/), you'll find that indeed, the link does not work because the Amon pack has been upgraded to V2. You can pick it up in the download area.

BTW, are all add-ons compatible with Resistance???

So far, no. Kegetys has already reported he can't run missions Using Gunslinger's EU, even after opening and saving the mission with OFPR's mission editor (which should have worked, according to Suma - search The FAQ for "resistance addons").

Also, weapons that before OFPR had their muzzle flash on all the time under HW T&L are now reported to have it on full time even without using HW T&L. sad.gif

Lotta work for the mission and addon makers here. Not what was anticipated.

Not really, just a copy + paste of a little bit of code. I have been updating my MG pack and it literally takes less than a minute for each one smile.gif

I meant to say that so many addons and mission will have to be updated by so many addon and mission makers, not necessarily that it will take a long time. smile.gif
