twangydave 7 Posted August 7, 2014 Hi there, I'm a long time forum lurker who has just got into the joys and frustrations of mission making in the editor. Firstly, many thanks to all the regular contributors on here whose brains I have been picking without them knowing! There's a fabulous resource of information on here which has allowed me to deal with almost all the obstacles I've come up against thus far. I've done a quick search on this and not found any info so I thought I'd ask. I'm working on my first mission and it utilises a couple of well known mods. Do I need to contact the authors of these mods to seek their permission to use their content or is it sufficient to credit them fully and visually in all places that I place the mission? L3TUC3 25 Posted August 7, 2014 Depends. Are you taking parts of mods (textures/scripts/sounds) and embedding them into your mission folder or is the mod a dependency to play? If the former, you should definitely seek permission. If the latter, depending on the license, credits will typically do just fine. Credits are good.
twangydave 7 Posted August 7, 2014 Cheers L3TUC3, I am using a couple of utility scripts that will be embedded in the mission file. I'll drop the authors a PM to ask permission to do so. Thanks for the info!
