Terrain Builder wont generate tiles for surface mask

Recommended Posts

Terrain Builder wont generate tiles for surface mask. It just sits there not responding.

My map is 10240x10240 at 200000_E and 0_N,

Grid size 1024 x 10,

Source image 10240 x 1,

Tiles are 1024x1024 16 overlap,

Texture layer is 40x40

It generated the sat tiles fine.

All imported bmp's are at 200000_e and 0_n

Any ideas?

Do you have a mask image loaded in the Raster Layers list? - Is it the same size as the Satellite image? - and in the same position?

People will need more information in order to try and help. What are the other details listed on the samplers tab within TerrainBuilder? If you are after some working terrain sampler sizes check here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?188519-Problem-with-my-terrain-size-and-satmap-(fail-to-generate-layers-at-1m-px-overlap-)&p=2882320#post2882320

Sat image of 4096x4096 is horrifically low res... you should really be aiming for 24576x24576px to give you 1 meter/pixel.

Also try varying the Sat/Surface mask tiles parameter - leave the overlap at 16 but try 1024x1024 instead of 512x512...

Hehe, yeah! It's just my place holder for now, it takes a long time to render large sat images out of L3DT.

I think I worked out that I'm using the wrong colours in my mask texture as the layers.cfg isnt set up to recognise any of them! D: I'm halfway through a fix atm, will report back.
