Yolo Joe 11 Posted June 27, 2014 Now [west,"HQ"] sideChat format["I remember seeing a ammobox in that burger kiosk earlier."]; CROSSROAD: "I remember seeing a ammobox in that burger kiosk earlier." I need it to be: [west,"PLAYERNAME"] sideChat format["I remember seeing a ammobox in that burger kiosk earlier."]; PLAYERNAME: "I remember seeing a ammobox in that burger kiosk earlier." I dont quite understand how the "%1, name Player" thing works :(
Tajin 349 Posted June 27, 2014 Why so complicated? player sideChat "wtf!";
Grumpy Old Man 3551 Posted June 27, 2014 the format command can be very powerful hint format ["My name is %1",name player]; will put out "My name is Grumpy Old Man" in the hint window. Have a look at https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/format for further reference.
IndeedPete 1038 Posted June 27, 2014 You don't even need format anymore. Simply use (untested): hint (name player); // returns "IndeedPete" hint str(15.77); // returns "15.77" _x = [1, "Hi, there!", Soldier1]; hint str(_x); // sould return "[1, 'Hi, there!', Soldier1]"
