chelseagrinfan23 1 Posted June 24, 2014 Hey everyone, before I start, I've never made addons before for ARMA 2 or 3. So I'm in LOVE with cars (After my dad bought a BMW M3 convertible, i've been into cars :p) I want to add some custom civilian cars, (Especially BMWs!) but i have NO clue how. I've seen some getting started threads on here, but they just list the tools. I found a video series on youtube, but it's for ARMA 2. (I want to mod ARMA 3). Here's the link for it: I have the tools, and I'm an avid user of the 3d Modeling software Blender. If someone could give me a proper tutorial on how to add simple vehicles to ARMA 3 that'd be awesome. I just need to know how to do it! Thanks! P.S. The reason I want to make these cars is because i can't find any arma 3 civilian vehicle mods :( (link me please if there are any:cool:)
theevancat 277 Posted June 25, 2014 Well, if you have the models ready to go I'd advise looking into the A3 Tools sample models. They have an example car that you can use to do the selections for the model. For example, you select what points make up the wheels and the config knows that those are the things it has to spin. Otherwise, keep Googling. Here's a tutorial to port cars from A2, which might be able to help (particularly in the model.cfg category.) http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?174673-Tutoria-Importing-ArmA2-vehicles-to-ArmA3
chortles 263 Posted June 25, 2014 To supplement TheEvanCat's recommendations (the sample car and the porting tutorial) I would also recommend taking a look at Aplion's unbinarized sources for Aplion's Arma 2 ports (that is, source access for already-released Arma 2 car ports). :)
