SOS - really confused with Multiplayer update

depends If you spread the IP adresses dynamic on the DHCP Server

on most routers this is standart configuration

so if you spread the IP's dynamic

it can happen that next time you boot

you will have an new IP

I think I've found the answer.

My IPv4 address had changed from 192.168.1.4 to 192.168.1.3 so none of ports that I'd opened on the router were having any effect.

Okay, I've set up my PC to set an IPv4 address for itself rather than let the router assign one from the DHCP table, which will vary depending on which wifi devices etc are connected. I selected one beyond the router's assignable range of numbers to prevent a possible mix up in the future (hopefully). All seems to be good, thank you all for your help in steering me through this. Much appreciated. :)
