Actually it's not the right link. tounge.gif

Anyways, to complete Reckoning, I had my team members loaded up with RPG's and took RPG myself + Dragunov. Crawl up the hill, take out the BMP's, it is relatively easy. Then crawl on your own towards the base. You can shoot loads of ppl with the Dragunov without getting spotted. I think my tally was 31 kills or so. Then steal the helicopter in the middle hangar, take off, take out the Shilkas which will immediatly open fire on you, and destroy the remaining copters on the ground. Very easy mission. smile.gif

Have fun!

Actually, i ordered my men to stay out of the enemy camp with all my equitment on hold fire and prone position. The i ran into the enemy base, stole the v-80 chopper (or whatever its called) in the hangar and destroyed the place. I used low-level flying because i had not enough AT-6 missiles to destroy all the shilkas around.

After numerous tryes to take the base with my men, i gave up, since they were simply too stupid to follow a simple order. I dont care about the ment, but since i had given them rpgs and AAs, they were of too much value to just let them die.

Thats how it is in Resistance in many cases, you get alot better results if u work alone.

In the mission where u have to defend against an armored attack (after you took the city of ruins), I executed every 1 of my men after the initial infantry assault, since they were simply too stupid to take an order and look the right direction, instead of standing with the back to the enemy. I simply put them up on a line and put a bullet in their necks smile.gif Then i laid a minefield and took position near the ammocrates with my rpg.... worked marvelous smile.gif

Poor mission design if u ask me. Anyway, sometimes it seems like the AI has been improved, but for me it also looks like that have caused some suffering on other sides of it, that worked fine earlier.

I don’t agree, my AI teammates does a great job. They follow my orders fine(most of the time) and I have great use of them. My most important teammate is my sniper. I always have him on “scan horizon†and he have saved me many times, spotting enemy patrols.

I guess it depends on how you play. I often move with everyone on hold fire and when I spot enemies I give all men specific targets  and then we all fire away at the same time. It works really great. I don’t know if its because I have hold all my men alive through the campaign but now in the end of the campaign they are really good at hitting targets.

You cannot storm the base and expect your AI men to improvise as good as you. However with a little planning before executing the attack they can be of great value. If you choose to play alone all the time then you are missing one of the best features of OFP: tactical use of your men for combat.

That's a pretty open question but since it is possible to knock down helos with AA the reasons you fail could be

a) Bad lock on - make sure you get a lock on diamond if your using the HUD otherwise you have to guess. And keep the target in your sight for the flight time of the missile.

b) Bad aspect angle - nose or tail on is a good shot, firing on a helo side on, especially if fast moving is not worth the effort.

c) Bad luck - sometimes a pilot just moves at the right time to dodge a shot or even having been hit manages to keep his bird going. Not much you can do about this.

I thought this mission was great fun. I had three guys with RPG's and three with AA's plus myself with an AA. Firstly I used the truck to ride halfway to the base then I told the AA's to hold fire while my RPG guys wasted every vehicle that came in sight (they are pretty hot at this) and then ran on to the base. I got onto the runway and ordered stealth mode. Then waited for a squad of troops to come real close, then wasted em all! Pinched some ammo and RPG's off the dead troops and crawled my way towards the choppers. The rest is history. Drove back to the truck in the BRDM and UAZ. Arming yourself with a sniper rifle is a good idea in this mission... wink.gif

I finally made it!

I equipped 2 guys with AA and 1 with an AT. The rest had an RPG. I ordered my men to hold fire, and I blew up the first BMP. A few minutes later a second BMP came, and one of my guys blew him up. Then I proceeded, destroyed the BMP+T72 guard, and approached the airport from the East. I shot about 5 Ruskies with my M21, and when the other Ruskies came closer, I ordered my men to fire! In 5 seconds we killed about 12 Ruskies! Great teamwork! Then I dealed with the patrol on the Westside of the airfield, blew every chopper up with my RPG guys and hopped in the BRMD. Then a Hind came after me, but I ordered my AA guys to shoot at the Hind and 7 seconds later the Hind was History. Great Mission! tounge.gif
