Played through the alpha and beta and had a lot of fun, its a good concept and i prefer "old" themes like this one compared to a futuristic approach like PlanetSide2 or even Arma. Is it just me or there is very few games covering WWI?

Verdun is great and is a lot of fun with a squad. Recent patches did a great job to optimize and augment performance in general, they are making a solid shooter here.

Sadly it's only another shooter. WW1 deserves better.

Most WWI games are combat flight simulators. The only other (recent) WWI FPS that comes to my mind is a mod for M&B: Warband. A good and gritty WWI FPS has been a dream of mine for a long time. This isn't it, but it's getting there. Of course, the lack of WWI games means that this game gets the dubious distinction of being a pioneer - if they do it well, it might launch a new trend. If they fail, it'll be an example of why people don't and won't make WWI games.
