Problem With Textures In O2

Recommended Posts

Hey guys.

A silly problem here..

Working with the sample model of the SU25, inside O2 I am using the texture remapping tool to make sure the textures are pathed correctly.

Now, when I point the textures to the correct path they still appear red within the tool, ie cannot find them. Tried every path configuration I could think of.

My main folder is

marker_su25\su25\

data\

penetration\

weapons\

The marker_su25 folder is stored in my downloads folder within my F: drive..

SO teh full path for that is

F:\downloads\marker_su25\su25\

data\

penetration\

weapons\

Any advice would be good..

Thanks

Do you have your Su25 folder on your P drive? I'm pretty sure it will only look for textures on the P drive, otherwise they will be red

Ok..

So changed my folder to my P: drive.

So it is now P:\marker_su25\su25 data etc with the model.p3d files in the root of su25.

Still get red not found textures!

Doing my head in... :)

EDIT:

So I added p: in front of the textures path, but will that not cause a problem when I binarizes it etc, as it will be looking for p: path?

I would go through your model again in O2, directly assign textures with face selection button "E" just to be sure. That way you won't have to worry about renaming them

under your config options in object builder what is set for path for textures?

if its P:\

You won't have to your drive letter there

example is:

Full Path - P:\downloads\marker_su25\su25\

Path to fix it should be

downloads\marker_su25\su25\texture.tga

Your folder does not have to be in your P drive.

Th above post is the closes to what I would call correct. Let's say your texture is in a data folder which in a weapon folder which also contains your gun. Example of folders you might have:

Mod folder//Radom folder where you might keep your crap at

-Su25 //main folder that contains your p3d, config, and modelcfg

--Data //sub folder containing textures

--Anim //just another older for maybe your hand animation

When you are setting your texture path you don't need to include insignificant folders. So in the end you should just have

"Su25/data/weaontext.paa"

I believe you just need to start with the folder your p3d is in, as long as the texture is in a SUBfolder of the p3d folder.

NOT this:

"Documents/modz/gunz/su25/data/weapontext.paa"

Then again. I may be wrong :) but that's the rule of thumb I use.
