how to use earlier created PVP Missions in a new installation?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have this game (ARMA 2 OA) installed previously on my PC and created a few missions. Now I reformatted my HD but saved all the missions.

Is there a way I can see (and play) those missions in my new installation again?

Thank you

For sure... if they are .pbo files just copy them to your \Missions or \MPMissions folder in your arma 2 OA install directory. If they are just folders (not .pbo files) then copy them to your MyDocuments\Arma 2 Other Profiles\YOURNAME\Missions or MPMissions

Sounded like a good solution, but unfortunately did not work. Although it makes perfect sense.

I copied the entire folder ARMA 2 from the previous installation and replaced the new one. I know the game sees it because a test mission that I created has disappeared.

But still cannot see my old missions. There is a possibility that I forgot where to look for them (it's been more than 2 years since I played the game).

Could you please remind me where to find those missions in the game?

Many thanks.

When you say old missions what do you mean? Stuff you've created in the editor? Missions you've downloaded from somewhere?

I think single-player missions are under SP > Scenarios while multi-player missions you would have to go into MP section, create a new MP server, then select the map/mission from there.

the missions I've created in the editor. They are multi-player missions.

Here is what I do: start the game, -select "Multiplayer" from the main menu, - select "New" from the "Network games on the Internet", - switch to "Internet" from default LAN, click OK and in the window "Create Games" can only see five maps that came with the game. I think that how I was doing it before.

Put them in C:/libraries/my documents/ Arma2/MPmissions; Thats what i do, and it works for me allways. Never had problem with that. I allways make my multiplayer missions in singlrplayer editor and then just copy/paste the mission folder from singleplayer mission folder (C:/libraries/my documents/arma2/missions) to my multiplayer folder (C:/libraries/my documents/ Arma2/MPmissions) for finishing and finetuning before i upload them on dedicated or host em. It works 100% i never had any problem with that. Even missions my friends created and sended me via email does work perfrctly that way.

Bear in mind that the folder path might be different for you, since i have only one user on my computer and only one profile in arma 2 CO. And iam on WIN7 64 not win 8.

Also allways copy entire folder for example: my_mission.chernarus. it is that folder in wich you have your "mission.sqm" and maybe some other things like "init.sqf" some JPG pictures if u using custom flags and stuf, "description.ext", and some other sqfs if u use some scripts.

Thank you. I did everything you suggested, but the game still does not see the missions.

I made my missions using PVP Script 3.2. Dos this matter?

About English - don't worry - it's not my native language either.

I also use scripts in my missions, so it shouldnot be a problem. Can you send me one of your missions to: miroslav.kocur(theround thingy)yahoo.com ? Ill try it out next weekend and try to solve your problem.
