more choppers in arma 3?

Recommended Posts

hello i was looking in the arma 3 tactical guide today and i found the following air vehicles mentioned: OH-58 Kiowa warrior, UH-1Y Venom, AH-IZ Viper, AH-64D Apache, CH-46 Sea knight, CH-53 Super stallion. along with pictures of an f-35, C-192 Samson, and what looked to me like an F-22. are these vehicles going to be added in game? i think some are definetly going to be added to the game the C-192, F-35, and possible F-22 are definitly going to be added in game because to my knowledge they were not in any other arma games (excluding the F-35 which was in arma 2, but the devs probably would have used all in arma to put it into arma 3, and when they did that with the V-22 they said it was from AiA). the others may be described because they are in other arma games and might not be added (though i really hope they are). can i have an answer from one of the arma 3 game developers on this?

Yes, fixed wing aircraft are coming! If I'm not mistaken, with the next major update. Not sure if it was with Zeus or campaign part 3, but fixed wing coming with one of those.

P.S. - I'm a new member. How come I can type responses, but not post a new thread? Usually the newest members are the ones LEAST likely to be able to respond to anything.

Unfortunately I must note that the tactical guide's Web version does clarify that most of those helos were actually due to screenshots taken of the All in Arma mod as you said, although myself and others (this link is but one example, yet others have ported too and should not be ignored!) have ported some of them over as their own mods. :D

The Venom and Viper were both in Arma 2, with the Apache having versions in both Arma 2 and in Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead, plus an appearance for the British in OA as the Apache AH1. If you're at all interested in getting into Arma modding and in particular 'porting' helicopters, source files are publicly available here, with textures here and sounds here. (For the Apache I recommend using the OA version, whose textures and sounds can be found here -- while textures and sounds for the Apache AH1 can be found here.)

, although like INDFOR/AAF's which is already in the game they're both ground attack jets (AAF's jet has an alternate anti-air loadout, while CSAT's is not shown yet), but CSAT's jet is coming with campaign part 3, Zeus (outside of dev branch) is later.

BLUFOR/NATO's jet was already announced but has not been revealed yet, and BI has not mentioned any further planned helicopters.

yes but to my knowledge CH-46 and CH-53 were not in arma 2. so why were they mentioned? i don't rely see them being in game though because both of them are retired already and this is in 2035. though i definitely hope they are. by the way thanks i didn't know about the new csat jets and trucks.

Presumably this mod was used for those screenshots, as All in Arma can be used to enable Arma 2 mods to work (to a degree) within Arma 3.

I just want the 160th SOAR choppers (MH-60L, MH-47G, MH-6J and AH-6J), MH-53J Pave Low III and AH-64D.

That's all what I ask for BLUFOR choppers... :'(

I think one small manned recon helicopter for the OPFOR would make sense to fit in between the WY-55 hellcat and MH-9 helicopter.
