Ultimax 100 Arma 3

This is a port from my VBS1 days and here it is so far:

Issues:

- Texture needs updating (a new one)

- Zasleh error (though Abs is trying to help me work that issue)

- No rvmats (done in O2 and VBS1 back then didn't require it) so it's what you see is what you get.

- Shadow (need to work on that sometime)

- A new Beta C-Mag model and texture (one is currently from SJB)

- A new vertical foregrip (I think the current one is from Jahve)

- Uses Beta C-Mag

- No animations so it;s just how you see it.

Stuff that works

- the gun itself (as you see in the video)

- Accepts FHQ and Iansky optics as well as BIS optics, and from Massi's NATO/Spetnaz weapon pack (I use "CompatibleItem" instead of Joint Rails)

Great gun, but ARMA3 has no mercy with the shaders, sure it would look more awesome in the future

True the more TLC I put into it it'll get to a good "standard"

How it really looks. Still playing with the shadow lod more than anything else right now, trying to make it at least have a basic shadow on the ground.

In this case I can since it was my own model, etc. But I'm sure generally the answer would be no if it was BIA models, textures, etc.

So to be clear: This was a THIRD-PARTY Addon back then and so that is why I can release it (eventually) for public release and they aren't BIA property, etc.

Well... forgot how to make weapon icons transparent and the search for a new texture has failed... it seems the current texture is the only one that works anyway.

Four years ago? It was very small compared to the OFP/ArmA series in terms of people (VBS1 isn't as relatively cheap as the ArmA series) but usually they were really good. I've been out of the VBS community so its only a guess now...

Update:

-Can use IanSky optics

-Selected RH optics and attachments (particularly the SureFire light)

-R3F Aimpoint and EOTech sights only (current config).

-Fixed some icons but still non-transparent.

Ok, thanks for the info. One question though, what is the VBS modding community like and how large is it?

Sorry for OT, but it's still very small. Dead for ArmA standards, there are around 2 new missions every 2 months i check the BISIM Forums and basically no content. The content usually is created by BISIM's customer themselves.

On Topic:

Nice gun, yet I'd say new textures would be nice. Looking forward to it. :)

No worries about OT for this second... kind of why I stopped VBS, mainly because it was just a bit too expensive.

In any case yeah... I don't know a good sight that has a good stamped metal texture that I could use in lieu of the kiibash texture I made years ago.

Used Google... (imagine that?) and found what I think is somewhat "better" looking metal textures, at least I like them a bit more than the original ones.

And a question for a personal project, how do you illuminate the red dots? Do I have to go through the Material Editor for that?

Well using Kiory's source file I have a working reflex scope:

And using RVMATs (messing around with) got me this result (texture was lightened but I like how this turned out)

In any case here's an "alpha" version

Notes:

Textures are still WIP.

Equipment Icons.... WIP

Sounds, MX default. Any suggestions would be welcome (JSRS?)

An ammobox (with FHQ accessories) can be found in Empy>Ammo>Ultimax weapons box so you need to have FHQ Accessories as well as R3F Weapons for it to function properly. You should be able to use it (I have all so naturally I have no errors of that kind).

NOTE IT IS STILL ALPHA!!!!!!

Zasleh/Muzzleflash work in progress, I haven't figured out the mystery since Abs seems MIA...
