alleycat 28 Posted October 25, 2013 Is it possible to write to a custom log file? Like using diag_log, but to a new specific file?
Tankbuster 1747 Posted October 25, 2013 I asked this some time ago and although it only got one reply, the opinion was, 'yes, but not easily'. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?151762-Write-to-a-text-file-other-than-the-RPT
cuel 25 Posted October 25, 2013 Not really a log file, but yes http://killzonekid.com/arma-console-extension-debug_console-dll-v2-0/
Tankbuster 1747 Posted October 25, 2013 Funky. :) It's a console output rather than a file, but it's still excellent. /OT. I've always wondered why killzonekid is banned from the forums since July, yet his work on the biki is prolific, not to mention the A3 stuff he does on his own website. Tankbuster 1747 Posted November 5, 2013 Functions offer some logging capabilities, you might want to check them out. This writes to the existing RPT file. I want to write to a different file, primarily because the RPT is so chocked full of useless junk that it's hard to find our own output in it. And there are some errors which spam the RPT so much the box spends a large part of it's resources writing the RPT and not playing the game. That's why nologs is useful to us but we need to write our own log file.
