Altis Alliance dynamic campaign (Jagged Alliance themed tribute) pop-up GUI?

Recommended Posts

Hey! I am currently working on a Jagged Alliance style campaign for Armed Assault 3 and was looking to find out if anyone would be interested in contributing. Bellow is a video from the intro of the campaign. It gives a rough idea of the "feel" I am going for as far as theatre of war is concerned. To any of the old Jagged Alliance vets out there who play Armed Assault 3 - this one is for you. I want to recreate some of the "key" elements of JA that made it so great such as the laptop. I'm not talking about adding turn base / action points, however JA is defenitely the aim for overall feel.

I am specifically looking for someone who is skilled with creating the action menu activated interactive GUI pop up (for the laptop - I can supply the artwork for the laptop pop-up gui), as well as a money system. I will say I am willing to learn this stuff and do it myself, however I just figure it speeds up the process some and maybe someone with these skills and a fan of JA would be interested! :).

I just discovered BIS_fnc_ambientAnim for ambient animations. Will be revising the intro video shown in trailer to "liven" it up a bit.

The mods being used for the dynamic campaign are listed in end of video for credit purposes.

Development Build trailer 01 ->

Cheers,

Wilson

Oddly I have been working on the same idea, though it looks like you are much farther along than I am.

So far I've just been working on setting up garrisons for the various towns in Altis using EOS.

Hey right on man! What sort of backround do you have in scripting/editing/etc?

I'm working on something similar too, except that I don't really care much for the story. My plan is basically just a mercenary-themed MP-missiontemplate that allows to play a persistent multisession campain with MCC.

The persistent part mainly refers to the available characters, their skills, basebuilding and resources.

So in a way it is JA-themed, but then again it isn't. The team wont be going around capturing sectors and cities (never really liked that idea). Instead they'll get a selection of contracts to choose from (depending on their reputation, location of the base and things like that). Those contracts are then loaded/modified/created on the fly with MCC. I wan't to keep it as open/unrestrictive as possible, as it is entirely up to the team what and how they want to handle it. (it will reflect on their paycheck and reputation though)

So... more of a coop-mercenary-roleplaying template that largely relies on a capable "dungeonmaster" with MCC. :)

A true JA-themed campaign would surely also be a nice thing to see in ArmA3! Good luck with that.

Count me in. I've always wanted to add to MCC the one click "mission making" once you choose the type of mission to make and then depends by the group size, assets exc it will randomly create their mission.

I've been playing around in the mission editor here and there since Alpha. Beyond that I have some general experience in modding and coding.

My steam ID is mikemcmahon08. Add me sometime and we talk about what we've done so far, what our goals are and whether it would be useful to work together.

Hahaha, that sounds sweet but it's not what I originally meant.

I just wanted my players to have some options to choose from. I would still create/control those missions by hand.

However, none of that is set in stone yet.

You really got me interested though. Automated one-click mission generation sounds awesome. It would probably require a pretty smart framework though and maybe it would be better if it was just sort of a task-generator... not whole missions, to keep it flexible.

I'll send you a PM on that.

Thanks Tajin. Your idea sounds great, I would love to play it when it arrives.
