hardscript 10 Posted October 10, 2013 Servers no longer responding on external sites. http://119.252.190.181/servers.html http://www.thelanbox.com.au/servers/ Servers are with different hosts and some are on my own dedicated. They slowly stopped responding over the last 48 hours, 1 by 1 they went dark. All servers are up and running with players on them.
=[TTK]= memphis007 10 Posted October 10, 2013 It is because some ArmA III servers have migrated from Gamespy 2 query protocol to Gamespy 3. Temporary fix is to switch your server type as ArmA II.
nuxil 2 Posted October 11, 2013 we had ourself problems with gamespy trackers lately. so we desided to make our own plugin for Bec that will show some Gamespy and Battleye info. its not a optimal solution since we have our webserver on a diffrent host than our gameserver. so the plugin will uploade new info every N secs- "defined in setting file". to our webhost. this might come in handy for some people who had/has the same issue as we did and uses Bec. altho. atm it will only work for arma3 servers. here is how we implemented it on our site. http://www.jointheriot.org/viewpage.php?page_id=9 its displayed from a xml file which the plugin generates. the xml file contains much more info that whats shown on the page. we only display what we feel is needed. the trackers seems to be messed up to be honest. sometimes they work.. sometimes they dont. it was really annoying. Kinsman 10 Posted October 11, 2013 So "Some" server migrated to GameSpy 3 Protocol? How did that come about? its nice that gamespy seem to have figured this out and rectified it, but do people now have to use BOTH protocols in their queries??? Any info would be handy, as I will pass it along to Brainless. http://www.brainless.us/

They then notified GameSpy and asked them to change that on their side. Newly started servers will all use the new protocol now, so no, the old one can't be used anymore (unless a server still wasn't restarted after the change). You mention a "new" protocol, are there any details of this anywhere, as I set our game Panel back to "ArmA2" and its querying fine now.

I mentioned this to Dwarden on Skype on August 26, but didn't hear anything back so I just left it at that (not going to chase people down to fix their own problems). ---------- Post added at 08:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:55 PM ---------- You mention a "new" protocol, are there any details of this anywhere, as I set our game Panel back to "ArmA2" and its querying fine now. It's the same one that's been used in A2 for awhile. I think most people call it "GameSpy v3" but that apparently isn't an official name. Here's a good description of it (this is for UT3, and references a "GameSpy version 4" but appears to be the same thing): http://wiki.unrealadmin.org/UT3_query_protocol
bravo17 1 Posted October 12, 2013 Gametracker seems to have fixed it now.
[CORP] Sacha 3 Posted October 13, 2013 Hi, I dont know if my issue is realy related to this topic, but it seems to. We're running multiple servers on the same host and when they're up at the same time, some of them disapear in the arma3 multiplayer server list. All servers are running on different ports and they all have "arma3pc.master.gamepsy.com" as their "reportingIP" parameter. I think firewall rules are set correctly. Anyone got a clue on this ? Thanks in advance.
