Hello soldiers of ARMA 3!!!

We have opened a new recruiting session here at Battlegroup -=XTRA=-

Here is a brief description of past activities of our clan and current status.

Who we are (historic):

Battlegroup-XTRA- is a mainly European game group that was formed a long time ago during the days of Battlefield1942. Playing Desert Combat most of the time we were part of a large community that specialized in this modification and counted about 25 members during this era. The NoFlyZoneCTF mission and Berlin map where most famous on our 24/7 running usually fully populated server. Where Berlin served as a street-war mission setting to “stand on the ground†for once every so often and NoFlyZoneCTF was almost purely air mayhem.

A few years ago most of us migrated to Battlefield 2 and have played this game for quite a while until most of us started doing other things (PS3, COD4, HL). Desert Combat provided one of the best gaming experiences out there to my opinion and we would like very much to get that old feeling back with the new Arma3 . And for this we need your help!!

Who we are (present day):

Now many years after our team migrated to Arma2 some of the old members got back together to try ArmA 3 and after some testing came to the conclusion that it is a great game. Since A2 had a lot of bugs when it was released we have gotten off to a slow start but our community is growing once again and more old members are coming back to play with us like in the old days, but this time with a brand new game. The Patrol Ops & Domination missions are among our favourites but we are working on our own mission pack that will be upgraded until it reaches satisfaction for everyone. Moreover we are going to organize events about special operations on different missions which will require a whole different strategy and teamwork type.

If you like Teamplay, Hardcore gaming and tactical cooperation this is the place to be.

As our Arma3 squad is quite new we are still working to form a decent Battlegroup which can handle every mission out there. Here are some

This event is mainly organized to know new players willing to join and test our new server configuration so it won't be a particular mission and not many slots will be available.

It will probably be played on the modded server so prepare to use play with six to automatically download required mod and install them (http://play.withsix.com/). We are going write a tutorial about that in a week.

Update:

New ArmA3 server is online. We also host a Dutch Armed Forces server for ArmA2 and soon maybe for ArmA3 once that A2 mod reaches version1.00. We also signed up our first new ArmA3 members to the team that bring the total to about 15 active at this time. Many invites have been sent out to searching BIS players that are in need of a squad. All above the age of 18 are accepted if requirements are met.

Besides players we are also looking for testers, mission & movie makers that like play with a tactical unit.

Good evening fearful soldiers!

Tomorrow on friday there will be an Arma 3 operation as you are probably aware. More details about the event can be found here: http://www.battlegroup-xtra.eu/index.php/Events/viewevent.html?eventid=91

In addition to notice you about the event also on the steam group I would like to point out that this is the first of a series of events which will take different kind of operations each week or so to challenge our battlegroup.

This will aim to provide many types of mission to play and to improve our cooperation and tactical gameplay in each situation arma will be able to provide.

Moreover this is marking the start of a new recruitment session and a new server configuration that will undergo multiple optimizations in future.

Everyone is invited and encouraged to be an active part of this with any kind of help you are able to provide!

Update:

Much has changed over the last few months. Battlegroup-=XTRA=- was besides the work on the Dutch ArmA2 mod almost extinct & forgotten by most. But with the adoption of all ex GITS hardcore ArmA fans we have started a new era in time. One that will bring each gamer a solid and technically correct build up game and many of hand crafted mod for all the ArmA fans to enjoy.

We are now the proud team that bring you massive mods like:

Dutch Armed Forces (currently only Arma2)

BAF-X (British Armed Forces -Expanded for ArmA2)

Unsung Vietnam Experience (ArmA2)

Also the XTRA missions should not be overlooked:

XTRA EVO BLUE / RED COOP (ArmA2)

XTRA Domination COOP (ArmA3)

Currently we have a massive amount of highly dedicated and able modders all working together to achieve one single goal: To enhance the Arma experience for all. Besides that we also host a quad of servers for you and us to play on were everyone can field-test and practice your COOP & Arma skills.

So there is plenty of cool stuff for every Arma modder or player and fan to do at Battlegroup-=XTRA=- that you might want to participate in. If this sounds like you? If you like to play together (COOP) or make a mod for Arma we are the people to see!
