ArmA OA update 1.59 not installing properly

Hello there! :)

I am having some trouble with ArmA 2: Operations Arrowhead today!

I'm trying to update it to the latest version because it's outdated and i can't join servers. I tried straightaway updating it to 1.62 but an error popped up saying that i need to have at least patch 1.59. I downloaded it without any problems and then proceeded to try update to 1.62 again and the same error popped up saying i need at least 1.59! (side note: I did not buy ArmA 2 or ArmA OA on steam because it wouldn't work at the time.) Thank you! :)

IIRC you have to apply the 1.60 patch before the 1.62. Did you look at the patch ...readme.txt?

Robinson's Second Law: "When all else fails, read the instructions."

Good practice before any update is to make a backup copy of the game files & folders (no need to backup the mods) in case the patch fails. If it does, delete all the game files & folders then copy back the original. Don't use copy & overwrite in case the patch has installed an additional, incompatible file. Always check the MD5sum of the downloaded patch before using it.
