Hi all, I wanted to start a quick discussion about the creators of WW2 addons.

I was browsing the editing centre forums when I read about marss' new WW2 armoured pack, which will contain 4 tanks, and has nice pics of 2 of them........ so I went onto his site, and half way down the site it says he is making the P-51.

I thought that the invasion 1944 MOD was making a P-51.

MODs have been working for ages to try and make brilliant, really nice addons, and people are just coming from nowhere, and creating them before the MOD does. Take all of the vietnam addons - what happened to operation vietnam??

This also means that we get the same addons twice. is that a good use of our time? should we have to wait for ages for the same addons to come out, or should people just be more origonal?

I think it is cruel that MODs have to take time to make stuff and release them all at once and people are just releasing their addons of the exact same thing and the poor MOD makers don't have a chance. By the time Invasion 1944 is gunna be released, no one will want WW2 addons.

So I think that people should work together with MODs, and MODs should start to slowly release their stuff into the community. I can't really think of any solutions to these problems, but I don't really think its fair.

invasion 1944 and op vietnam will be total modifications (so will be lostbrothers)

the addon makers are free to make whatever they want , i don't think it affects mods a lot

I think people will lose interest in the MOD if it has practically already been released.

well jamesia, i have also seen Mr.marcels addons, he is a very good addonmaker. i think both the invasion 1944 team, mars and his ww2 team are doing a great job. then there is the time matter, se the invasion1944 mod as a game, It takes time to make epecially because invasion1944 mod is going to be 200mgb's. it might not be realesed before you hope it will, week but when its released it will be worth the wait trust me. mods do usually have more people working on the mod than a addon creator working on an addon and have their fellow modellers opinion if it doesnt look right. by the way, where did you hear about the ww2 armored pack?

well, Im only on a 56k and Im not sure I'll download it if all the addons included in it are already out there, download time is precious.

I hope that it does continue though, even though other people are making such "MODs"

I think it actually looks really good. Why download invasion 1944 when you can have this kind of material? DON'T THINK THAT!

well jamesia, do you see any ww2 maker working on the one amphibian tank(at least i think it is) used in normandie. invasion1944 team is doing a great job on it

first off thats only a tiny fraction of what will be in the ww2 pack (i know because ive modelled a lot of them, and still have quite a few to make), and its not marss' ww2 team, he is a member of the team and if people were only allowed to make addons that noone else had made the list would be down to really boring things or repetitive versions of things pretty quickly

im sorry. i know that he is a member and that it isnt his team. im just a little tired. oh, and the amphibius tank is the m5 light tank.
